3. We didn't have a tv until we moved from Bynum. It was kind of a consolation. If I watched any tv at all in Bynum it was at the Medders' (Carolyn and Billy Wayne) or at Phyllis Bell's.

5. Movies were 10 cents until you reached 12 or 13 and we moved when I was 11.
6. Didn't spend much time in the barber shop, so don't know the barber or the mystery of the mirrors.
7. I think the shift was over at 4 pm, but I remember most of the Dads walking home. The kids would gather up in the area across from the theater, and when our respective Dad came by, we went with him.
8. Our first car was a 1949 light green Chevy. I was in third grade, so it must have been about three years old.

My Mother did not have a license, but one morning she decided to take me to school because the weather was bad be and we were on our way to pick up some other kid, probably Judy Mintz, and she ran into the back of somebody. The upshot was that she had to go go court and I remember how scared she was. I think she just had to pay damages, but she didn't drive again for quite some time, and then only to the lake and back. She never did get a license while we lived in Bynum though. When I was sixteen, she bought herself a car and I took her to get her first license.
10. I had my first "pizza pie" when I was 13. We were in Jacksonville, Florida for the Gator Bowl, I think it was, and had just checked into the motel around two in the morning. My Dad went out for it, and it had anchovies on it. Ekkkkkk!
11. Our phone had two rings, and I never knew who we shared it with. I just remember they would always ask my teen-aged sister, Nadja to get off the phone.
12. Our phone number was 122-ring 2.
13. We lived in Apt 41 and 42. Number 42 was an efficiency with no bedroom, and Miss Hayes graciously consented to move to another unit so our family could have more room.
14. Did the apartments turn gray? I really cannot remember.
15. The Caudles lived next door to us, then Brother Bonner and then Brother Rhodes (or vise versa)
16. Mr. Kilgore worked at the post office, and I don't recall anyone else working there.
17. Mr. Carr was known as Slim but I never knew his real first name.
