Favorite Past times: Putting on shows, (the garbage racks as our stage), playing in the coal bins, hop scotch, skating, hide and seek.
Skip forward a few years: We moved to Anniston when I was in the 10th grade. I hated it. We moved back to Bynum the next year. Where I stayed until 1964 then I moved to Huntsville and lived with Joe and Gertrude Powell until I got a job and an apartment.
In 1965 I married. My husband went to Nam, when he came back in 1966 we moved to Ga. from there to St Louis. In 1971 I divorced and in 1972 I moved to Anniston. I stayed there until I moved to Montgomery in August of 1985.
I work for the State of Alabama
My plans are to move back to the Anniston area when I retire.
I feel so blessed to have lived when I did and where I did as a child and teen.
I did not realize having the same friends your whole life was so unique but I have also learned that it is a blessing.
I enjoy locating old friends and getting reacquainted. I have tracked down a lot of Bynum folk over the years.
One of the better things that has happened to me by staying in touch with old friends is that I opened my house to Joe and Gertrude Powell's Grandson 41 years after the time I stayed with them in Huntsville. He came to Montgomery to work in a law office for 6 weeks while he was in Law School.
