My family moved to Bynum in 1943 and lived in the Apartments until we moved to Allen Homes. We lived there until 1954 or 55. My Dad was Frank Mintz. He was known as "Corky" Mintz for a long time. In the group picture of the men getting awards my Dad was the second from the left, and the man next to him is Earl Hurshman, I cannot remember the other men. My Mothers name was Mildred Mintz. Dad work at the Depot until his retirement. There was 3 children, Kenneth, Judy, and Billy Frank. Most of our time in the apartments was in #123 and 124. Some of the time Mary Ann Maxwell and her family lived next door. The Slatens and the Grants were close friends.
Did you know any of the children in the birthday pictures? Sheila Slaten has written about our families, and so has Janice Baker. My brother Kenneth, is the boy Walter Grant wrote the News Paper article about. I have loads of pictures I found as we cleaned my parents house, after my Dad died last January, and my mother died 7 years ago, Kenneth, my brother, died 5 yrs ago. I hope in some of the things I am sending you will remember us. Were you in any of the pictures? John and Eva Waddal were part of their group, and Sheena and Terry Wallace family. We spent a lot of our days at "THE LAKE" in the summer, and Mother and Dad went to the Officer's Club a lot.
My brothers and I also went swimming a lot at the community pool. I will write more later. Did you remember Billy Brasher? One of my teachers at Bynum was Mrs. Payne. Do you remember her?
